North Shore Oral Medicine is a Specialist Oral Medicine Service based in St Leonards, in Sydney’s North Shore. We are a referral-based practice specialising in the diagnosis and management of oral mucosal diseases, oral manifestations of systemic disease, salivary gland disorders and orofacial pain. 

Dr Elizabeth Arena is an Oral Medicine Specialist based at St Leonards and servicing the North Shore, as well as the greater Sydney community. She has extensive expertise in all fields of oral medicine within both Public and Private clinic settings, with particular interest in benign, potentially malignant and malignant oral mucosal conditions, as well as oral manifestations of systemic disease and oral complications of cancer treatments.

Oral Medicine Specialist

Dr. Elizabeth Arena is an Oral Medicine Specialist based at St Leonards and servicing the North Shore, as well as the greater Sydney community. 

Dr. Arena attained a Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours, followed by a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry specialising in Oral Medicine, through the University of Sydney. She has extensive experience in the field of Oral Medicine, having serviced both the Western Sydney and Sydney Local Health Districts, and providing both inpatient and outpatient care. 

Dr. Arena is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (MRACDS) in Oral Medicine. She also holds membership with the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia (OMAA), European Association of Oral Medicine (EAOM), and the Australasian College of Legal Medicine (ACLM).

Dr. Arena has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of oral potentially malignant disorders and oral epithelial dysplasia, and has undertaken research in these areas. She is a published co-author in the field of oral blistering disease, and is a contributing author for the upcoming book ‘Oral Health and Disease: What You Should Know: A User-Friendly Oral Healthcare Guide’. Her other clinical interests include management of oral conditions of haematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients and patients undergoing cancer treatments; as well as other salivary gland and oral mucosal diseases.
